Evaluation Tom an Jerry
I think that the recording matched the original clip with the sound FXs that I used. The sound that I used match the clips as they could have been the sound that were used in the episode. the sound FXs that I created were the sound of the lighter clicking and some of the screams, the other sound i got off the internet from a website called soundfxnow.com. this website was good as it have a wide verity of sound that could be downloaded. I think that the sounds compliment the clip and am happy with the way it turned out. If I could do this assignment again I would have made more sound FXs myself instead of getting the majority of them from the internet and would have tried to get a better backing track or the longer version of the original theme song,

Preparing to work with sound effects
1) Sound effect are used in film and television productions because the heighten certain sound that might not be herd other wise.
2) The advantages of sound effects are that is can make things believable. Sound effect add to the overall production such as hitting, gun shots and explosion making the sound stand out and more noticeable. the can also make certain part of film memorable such as the light-sabers from Star Wars.
3) The disadvantages to sound effects are that thy can be over done distracting from what is happening onscreen.
4) A foley artist is responsible for the reproduction of everyday sound, they can reproduce sound such as footsteps, glass breaking and squeaky doors.
Recording SFX
1) Footsteps, two foley artist stamping their feet on a marble slab.
2) Rain, by pouring dried rice onto tin foil
3) Punching, is make by someone wearing a leather glove hitting a slab of meat
4) bones braking, cutting a frozen lettuce.

Revised Equipment List
For the second filming we decided to change the mics that we used going from boom mics to tie mics so the presenters could be herd no matter if there was any other background noise, we will be using the same type of camera and tripod.
Review first footage
The sound in the footage that we recorded was not that good for most of the scenes as there was wind noise in the out side shots and people talking which made it difficult to hear the presenters, in the second inside scenes there was people talking through out and you couldn't hear the presenters at all. The only scene that you could hear the presenters was the first inside as we were in a quite room with no other noise.

Evaluation
We started be filming in three different locations to look at sound recording in three different conditions inside quiet, outside and inside noisy. The inside quiet was good as there was no background noise to distract from the presenters. The outside was not so good as there was wind and people make noise. And the inside noisy was bad as we couldn't hear what the presenters were saying all we could hear were people taking in the background. after looking at or footage we decided to make changes like using tie mics to be able to hear the presenters and not other people doing this made it easier for the presenters and myself as the camera operator as I did have to hold a boom and work the camera at the same time, it also cut down the noise form the wind on the outside shot being able to hear the presenters. We also move the position of the presents to avoid people walking and talking so that the mics didn't pick them up.
As a group we worked well together as we have worked on other project together and know how to work with each other.

Analyzing second footage
After watching the footage back we found that using tie mics the sound quality is better as you cant pick up that much background noise and can still hear the presenters clearly.

Disconnected - Brief
The video starts out with an establishing shot of Jazz sitting at a piano with her back to the camera. The room she is sitting in is large with hight ceilings and floor to ceiling windows. The camera then tracks to her and pans round to see her face, as the camera tracks we see what she is wearing, which is dark blue jeans, a nice t-shirt, a gray hoodie unzipped and black converse shoes. The whole video will be shot in black and white. While she is playing the video is cut with images of her and her brother growing up with him joining the army and a black and white version of the video of his passing out ceremony. As we cut back to Jazz after the clips the camera goes from a mid shot to a close up after each clip is played as she get more emotional, the camera is tracking around her getting different angles to make it more interesting then just from the same angle. As the song ends the camera is front on for an extreme close up of her then zooms out as she walks away from the piano leaving just the piano on its own, the camera then focusing on the piano as Jazz leaves, the video then fades to black.
Visualisation
For a music video for this song Disconnected by Jazz Morley, I see her siting at a piano playing and singing the song with the camera tracking around her playing, she in in a room with high ceilings with floor to ceiling windows letting a lot of light, cut with images of her and her brother growing up, with the brother eventually joining the army with shots of him in him uniform at his passing out ceremony, the track will be playing trough out these shots. The video will be shot in black and white.
The story that the video will tell is the story of her and her brother growing up and what happens to them.

Initial Listen - Jazz Morley
The song that I am analyzing is Disconnected by Jazz Morley
The mood of the piece of music is sad as it is about her brother going to was, she gets this across to the listeners by the was she is singing, slow and full of emotion and that it is played on just a piano.
I think that the song sounds similar to Skinny Love by Birdy in the way that it is played solely on a piano and full of emotion, and also there voices sound similar in the style that they sing.

The genre of the song Disconnected by Jazz Morley is soul acoustic.

Review Footage and New equipment List
Scene 1: Classroom
We filmed in an empty classroom. The audio is good there are no interruptions or other sounds disturbing the audio.
Scene 2: Outside
We filmed outside in car park. It is hard to hear as there is wind interference and people shouting half way through.
Scene 3: Hub Computers
We filmed by a corridor. There is a lot of background noise from people walking passed and above us.
Re-film
Change boom mic to tie mic, move presenters closer to the camera, have them speak up so the mics can pick them up and have them practice the script more, look at the weather forecast so wind would not be an issue, move away from the people that are making noise.

Preparing to shoot on location
It is important to plan when filming on location because other wise you don't know what you will be filming and the locations you have chosen might not be the best for sound.
If you don't plan there can be things that go wrong that could have been avoided.

If I were filming or reporting on this I would film away from the people sledding down the hit as there is always the possibility of getting hit by the sled or falling in the snow.
