Presentation Evaluation

For our presentation we decided to look at the sound in the fight scene between Scott Pilgrim and Roxy Richter in the film Scott Pilgrim Vs The World. We chose this scene because we are fans of the film and there is a lot of different sounds to analyze in the scene.

I think that are presentation when well because we are fans of the film and knew scene well before starting and were able to talk about individual characters and the sound that are herd when that enter a scene. We also knew and were able to talk about how some of the sounds were taken from video game sound tracks and noises from these games.
If we were able to do the presentation again we could have talked about how the music changes from the it being the music in the club to the fight.
As a group we tried to use the glossary as much as possible to help with naming the of the sounds.
I think that I have learnt how to identify the sound in a scene.

Oasis

The music video that I am analyzing is "the importance if being idle" by Oasis
The song is sung by Noel Gallagher by is mimed by Rhys Ifans.
the song has been purposefully choreographed to go with the music, which makes it a fun music video but the story of the video does not fit with lyrics of the song.

Sherlock Holmes Analysis

The opening to the film starts with piano music which is the musical score and also Sherlocks theme music, this music stays throughout the opening, but changes when other character enter or some sort of action happens.
There is diagetic sound such as the sound of the horse and cart and the guns being loaded, there is also nondiagetic sound with the voiceovers for Sherlock and the sounds of the bones being broken.
The sound of the camera flash at the end of the scene is a sound bridge to the next scene.
